Ronnie Mitchell passed away on May 7, 2010. He was born on December 24, 1949 in Virgie, Kentucky. Loving husband of Bernadette. Dear father of Mark (Daisy) Mitchell, Gary (Andrea) Mitchell, Amanda (Daryl) Ratajski, Sharon (Paul) Miller, Pam (the late Tony) Ali and Michelle (Derek) Berry. Loving and proud “Pa-Pa” and grandfather of 17 grandchildren. Ronnie was also survived by his brothers, Jack and Danny; and sister, Julie.

Evetta Thayer (Lot 4)

Evetta M. Thayer Lansing Passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the age of 62. Born November 30, 1947 in Mecosta County to Frank and Emily Bauer. Evetta worked as head teller at Fifth Third Bank in Lansing. She then went on to work as manager at Quality Dairy in Lansing. Preceding her in death were her parents and grandson, Joseph Ball. Surviving are her husband, Terry Thayer; daughters, Theresa Boyd, Cynthia (Charles) Pruitt; sons, Mike Neumann Sr., Frank Goodsell; grandchildren, Heather Williams, Amanda Stuber, Shane Neumann, Brennan Iiams, Bethanie Beech, Joseph Price, Mike Neumann Jr.; great-grandchild, Rolando Gonzalez Jr., Patience Oversmith, Zoey Oversmith, Layla Haines.

Jack Bryans (Grounds Maintenance)

Jack L. Bryans, age 69 of Hastings, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010. He was born March 28, 1941 in Hastings, MI the son of Linden and Freda Bryans. Jack graduated from Hastings High School in 1959. He worked in construction and has worked for Camp Thornapple for the past 23 years. Jack served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963 and also in the Reserves until 1966. He married Julia Ann Smith on June 28, 1991. Jack enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets and was a collector of many things. He also enjoyed going to Richie's for coffee. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Bryans. He is survived by his wife Julia (Smith) Bryans, daughter, Nichole Hamilton, eight grandchildren, two step children, brother, Jim (Carolyn) Bryans of Ohio, sister, Jerrie Davis of Battle Creek, MI, three nieces and one nephew.

Sherri Piercefield (Lot 16)

Sherri Jean Piercefield, age 53, of Lake Odessa, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday evening, October 13, 2010. Sherri was born in Hastings, MI on October 4, 1957. She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1975, and had worked at Carl's Super Market in Lake Odessa for over 20 years. Sherri loved spending time at Camp Thornapple with Rick and Kim Carpenter, and all the other friends she had made there. She is survived by Ron Piercefield, her husband of 31 years; daughter, Darcy (Joe) Quisenberry; son, Wade Piercefield; grandchildren, Alec, Griffin and Will Quisenberry; brothers, Mike (Debbie) Barnes and Denny Barnes; sisters, Vicki Benham (Jeff Lackey), Debra (Erhard) Freitel, Dawn (Steve) Pifer, and Dawnette (Dale) Michael; "special Mom", Beverly Erb; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and step-mother, Marie Barnes. Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Jean French; father, Jack Barnes; nephew, Darren Mesecar; niece, Amy Cruz; brother-in-law, Dan Benham; and parents-in-law, Floyd "Roy" and Blanche Piercefield.  Memorial contributions may be made to an educational fund for Sherri's son, Wade, or to the Lakewood United Methodist Church.
Bud Swanson (Lot 25, 14)

Merle Robert Swanson, 76, of Battle Creek, MI, Died, Friday, January 7, 2011 at his home. Bud is survived by his wife Charleen Swanson. Bud & Charleen Swanson were members of CTI for years and Bud will be really missed.  Memorial tributes may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Care.
Janet Blakeman (Lot 45)

BLAKEMAN - Janet Marie Blakeman died unexpectedly in her home on January 7, 2011. She was born August 23, 1955 in San Diego California, graduated from Castle Park High School in Chula Vista, California in 1973 and moved to the Ada area in 1990 with her husband Dennis and daughter Cheyenne and later Casey was born in Grand Rapids, October 20, 1993. Janet was active in her church and with many of the youth group organizations that her children were involved with throughout the years, her life revolved around her girls. She enjoyed the time spent camping and boating with her family and friends. Janet is survived by her mother, Mary; husband, Dennis; daughters, Cheyenne and Casey; brother, Rusty.
Don Roy (Lot 79)

Donald Joseph Roy, age 71 of Middleville, MI passed away at Pennock Hospital in Hastings on Monday, June 20, 2011. He was born in South Norwalk, CT on January 29, 1940 son of Louis and Alice (LeTarte) Roy. He attended St. Mary Magdalen, Holy Redeemer, and Melvindale High School. He joined the Navy right out of school where he served as a Seamans Apprentice on the USS Tulare. He was honorably discharged on March 12, 1958. After the Navy he achieved his PGA membership and was the assistant head-pro under Ron Laparl at Battle Creek Country Club. On December 2, 1967 he was married to Clara Jean Shorter in Battle Creek, MI. Don retired from Meijers Distribution Center as a Hi-Lo Maintenence Superintendent in 2001. Don was involved in so many things, as a young boy he enjoyed being a stickboy for the Detroit Redwings, during the Gordie Howe Era. He was always actively involved in the Youth Athletics, establishing HYAA in 78-79, which is still an active organizations for Hastings Youth today. This was his single greatest accomplishment outside of his children and grandchildren. Don loved the game of golf, he enjoyed teaching and playing, after retirement he enjoyed being an advisor to the operations of Mulberry Fore Golf Course. Don is survived by his children's mother, Clara Roy of Nashville, MI, Charlie - Moose (Abbie) Roy, Alice - SiTun' (Shawn) Gahan, Paul - Boomer (Mary) Roy, Jeannette - GiGi (Doug) Healy, all of Middleville. Brother-in-laws: Edward Shorter and Kenny (Rosie) Shorter of Battle Creek. Lastly his Pride and Joy: Holly, Erik, Jalyn, Mitchell (Kaylie), Cole, Logan, Andrew (Nicole), Alexander, Ashley and Austin. Being the 7th of the 7th of the 7th son, there are many more relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Alice Roy, brothers: Normand Ulric, Normand Maurice, (surviving Eleanor) Paul Emile, Robert, Paul Jean and Joseph Edward (surviving Rosemary) and one grandson, Joshua Paul Roy. Tim McMeekan (Lot 21)

Passed away Friday, February 17, 2012. He was born October 26, 1950 in Kalamazoo, the son of William J. and Delores D. (Dideriksen) McMeekan and was a lifelong resident of the area. Tim graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1969 and was employed by the Upjohn Company for over 25 years. He was a member of the Fidelity Lodge, #513, F. & A.M., served as the Past Worshipful Master, member of the Past Master Club, the Masonic Retirees Club, was honored as the Mason of the Year, member of the Saladin Shrine Temple of Grand Rapids, the Kalamazoo Shrine Club, was the Past President of the Shrine Clowns of Kalamazoo, member of the Tall Cedars, the Corinthian Chapter #123 of the O.E.S., where he served as the Past Worthy Patron, the Past Second Vice-President of the Kalamazoo County Association, was a Life Member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG), Southwestern Michigan-Kalamazoo Chapter and was a Charter Member of the Elks Lodge, #1965 of Hastings. On December 27, 1994, he married Cheryl Hayes, who survives. Tim is also survived by their sons, Timothy J. (Katie) McMeekan, II, of Kalamazoo and Corey McMeekan of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Peyton and Olivia McMeekan; and a sister, Dawn D. Dean of Portage. Tim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Samuel Dean.

Geri Bennett (Lot 36)

BENNETT, GERALDINE (Geri); age 85; formerly of Trenton, MI, retired in Sun City West, AZ; passed away while under passionate care-giving by her son, Stephen Bennett; on March 6, 2012. Geri worked for DeVilbiss in Belleville; co-founded The Second Time Around consignment shop in Riverview with Bette Nadeau; and retired from J.G. Morris Company in Trenton. Survived by son, Stephen Bennett; daughter, Kristan Bennett, and son-in-law, Donald Bass. Also survived by brother-in-laws, Lynn Dean Bennett and Dale (Pat) Bennett; sister-in-laws, Pat Bennett and Mary Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob Fogg (Lot 49)

Bob R. Fogg Battle Creek Bob R. Fogg went to his rest on July 11, 2012. He was born August 15, 1919 in Elkmont, Alabama to Thomas and Beulah Fogg. He served 4 years in WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the 826th Engineering Aviation Battalion. After the war he established Fogg Motor Co. in September of 1964 selling used cars, trucks and motor homes. He retired in January of 1981 to enjoy his family. He also enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, and fishing. He is survived by his wife Madelyn of 65 years; daughter, Phyllis (Philip) Essex; son, Ron (Linda) Fogg of Battle Creek; daughter, Joyce of Hailey, ID; grandchildren, Todd, Tricia, Ronald, Christine; great-grandsons, Blake and Braden; sisters, Janell Kalvoda of Tennessee and Joy Legg of California. Mignon Davenport (Lot 48)

Mignon Warner Davenport, 61, of Charlotte, passed away December 21, 2012. Mignon was born August 28, 1951, in Lansing, the daughter of James Humphrey and Mignon (Warner) Stephen. She worked in several different occupations, including paralegal, pharmacy technician, Coldwell Banker in Charlotte, and most recently with Keller Williams Real Estate in Charlotte. In a few short years in Charlotte, she became an essential part of the community. She loved her time with her husband, Jim, at their “lake palace” on Thornapple Lake. Her family and friends will remember her fine cooking and famous flank steak. Mignon is survived by her husband of 13 years, Jim Davenport; daughters Carrie (Chris) Reebals, Paula (Pedo) Arellano and Kay Empey; step-sons Justin Davenport and Joel (Jenelle) Davenport; grandchildren David, Kate, Alex, Emma, Elizabeth, Wyatt, Addison, Alaina, Aubrianna, and Mason “on the way”; mother Mignon Stephen; sisters Judy (Don) Blancett, Sarah (Nick) Taylor, and Janet (Tom) McPherson. She was predeceased by her father.
Sonny Corbett (Lot 115)

Charles C. "Sonny" Corbett, Haslett, MI. Died February 18, 2013 at the age of 90. Charles was born in Highland County, VA. September 25, 1922 to Charles Cleveland and Lottie Mae (Shaffier) Corbett. He retired from General Motors Corporation after 35 years of service in skilled trades. He served in the Army during WWII and was involved in six conflicts during his enlistment. He was a member of the Okemos/Haslett American Legion Post #269, enjoyed traveling and was an avid outdoorsman. His family meant everything to him and he loved them very much. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret; three daughters, Sheila (Harvey) Wyskowski, Sandra (Tom) Young and Sharon (Jerry) Corbett; two sons, Charles (Nena) Corbett and Rick (Eileen) Corbett; ten grand children; twelve great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; brother Bert (Sis) Corbett and five sisters, Delana Shaffier, Mercedes Hicks, Daire Waybright, Trevea (Robert) Rankin and Anna Lee (Douglas) Good.


Billy Stansbury (Lot 72)

Billy M. Stansbury age 81 of Bellevue, Michigan, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his residence. Billy was born Feb. 20, 1932 in Fairview, MO the son of Justin and Elizabeth (Mills) Stansbury. He was a retired 20 year veteran of the U. S. Navy and had worked for Post Cereals in Battle Creek for 10 years. He was a champion pistol shooter and had many trophies for his accomplishments. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting and playing cards (especially Euchre)
Frank D'Amico (Lot 103)

Frank J. D'Amico, age 71, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Grand Rapids. Born in Detroit, Frank was the son of Joseph and Josephine (DiGiovanna) D'Amico. Frank loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors, most of his summers were spent at the Thornapple Lake Campground with his family and friends. Frank was an avid cribbage player and played cribbage and cards with many of his family and friends. It was well known that Frank loved and cared deeply for his grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Douglas and Lois Rademacher; sister Anna Vulpetti; and granddaughter Crystal Russo. Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Sheryl (Sherri); children, Joe D'Amico, JoAnn (Mark) Gleason, Doug (Amy Phillips) D'Amico, Angelo Vulpetti, and Joe Vulpetti; sister, Grace (Sam) Macaluso; siblings-in-law, Tom (Sally) Rademacher, JoAnn (Larry Conrad) Rademacher, Laura Burke, Barb (Bob) Bernott, and Teresa (Scott) Palasek; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces; and two of his best friends, George (Jane Ross) Shough and Bill (Ann) Lundy.

James Roberts, age 26, of Macomb Township, died August 21, 2012. James is survived by his parents, Ken Roberts and Joann Roberts; sister, Tina Roberts; grandparents, Richard Roberts and Linda English; aunts and uncles, John Roberts, Steve (Ken) Roberts, Laura (Dale) Stade, Donnie (Rebecca) English and Michael English; girlfriend, Amanda Douglas; several great-aunts and great-uncles; and many cousins.

Roy Stansbury passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 in Florida.  Roy is survived by his wife Carol Stansbury.
Madelyn Fogg (Lot 49)

Madelyn M. Fogg, age 89, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at her home.  She was born June 29, 1924 in Deerfield, Michigan, to Leland and Hulda Tennant.  Madelyn was a homemaker and a self employed secretary for their local business.  She was a long time member of the Battle Creek Tabernacle and strong supporter of the Battle Creek Academy.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, and sewing.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.  Madelyn is survived by son, Ronald (Linda) Fogg of Battle Creek; daughters, Phyllis (Phillip) Essex of Battle Creek, Joyce Fogg of Hailey, Idaho; brothers, Mac (Marion) Tennant, John (Shirley) Tennant both of Michigan; grandchildren, Todd Essex, Tricia Harris, Ron Fogg, Jr., Christine Fogg; great-grandchildren, Blake and Branden Essex.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Fogg in 2012 and her infant twin sister, Margare.
Margaret Corbett (Lot 115)

Margaret was born on May 30, 1925  in Bath County, Virginia to the late James and Lucille Shaffier and passed away in New Port Richey, Florida on March 1, 2014 at the age of 88.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 69 years, Charles Corbett.  Surviving to cherish her memory, are three daughters, Sheila (Harvey) Wyskowski, Sandra (Tom) Young and Sharon (Jerry) Corbett; two sons, Charles (Nena) and Rick (Eileen) Corbett; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; brother Julian (Peggy) Shaffier; sister, Susan (Arlie) Probst; and several in laws.
Al Totten (Lot 15)

TOTTEN, ELWOOD EUGENE "AL" Elwood Eugene "Al" Totten, age 71, of Hastings, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Pennock Hospital in Hastings. Al was born on October 1, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Antone Elwood and Rosie Arlene (Nelson) Totten. Al attended Hastings High School. He worked as a truck driver for most of his life, driving for Trieb Trucking out of Indianapolis, Indiana until 1993. Al married Barbara Ann Schepers on May 26, 1969. He enjoyed watching any kind of sports on television. Al was a NASCAR fan and he also enjoyed playing pool and darts. Al especially enjoyed FISHING. He was a member of the Indy 500 Moose Lodge. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Rosie Totten; and his son, Daniel Eugene Totten in 2003. Al is survived by his wife, Barbara Totten of Hastings; four children, Jackie M. Lusby, Brenda S. Stillman, Barbara L. Livingston all of Hastings, and Shelly R. Totten of Grand Rapids; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Elgin (Delphia) Totten; sisters, Joy Farah and Janet Decker, all of Hastings; and several nieces and nephews.
